When is it not unwise to buy an imposter fragrance? When the perfume you loved some time ago is no longer available. You have searched online for the house that once offered your favorite perfume and it is nowhere to be found. You see a few other telltale signs from others looking for this same scent and it does not look promising. So you write an email to the company inquiring about the availability of that certain scent and get the answer you don’t want. It has been discontinued.
While there are many entities that offer perfume pretenders, there is one we think we will actually be able to deliver the goods. Will they be able to concoct a reminiscent scent that really does have the essence of the fragrance in memory?
…to be continued
After reading your post, I am curious. You must write more about this "journey" of finding a discontinued fragrance. What company do you think will be able to perform the "magical" task of re-creating the fragrance for you? I have never done anything like that before, but have thought about it on occasion.
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny that your story specifically mentioned the Princess Borghese Fragrance (Profumo di Montecatini). I was one of many (I later found out) that made that call but perserverance paid off. I guess they were bombarded with with requests to bring it back because thankully they did. So ladies, if it's your scent that's been discontinued, do not give up. Instead you and your fellow deprived scent lovers should pool together and get the company to bring it back.
