Remembrance of Things Past
Classics deserve a place in history and these time-tried classics deserve a place in your cleansing and moisturizing routine. Neutrogena's Facial Cleansing Bar still has the ingredients to gently cleanse the complexion, Rainbath (was it the first "shower gel"?) cleanses, softens and conditions, the Neutrogena Light Sesame Formula Body Oil imparts a silky layer of moisture without being cloying. (It can also be used as a bath oil.) The Intensive Moisture Wrap does just that--envelopes your skin with a layer of moisture that helps defeat dry skin.
Time is what all these classics have in common. And simplicity--they simply work and work very simply.

Sun Shine Shield

It may be dreary and rainy but before you know it, it will be sun- drenched summer and having a supply of sunblock is a smart move. Neutrogena has several new offerings, including Age Shield FACE Sunblock, SPF 90+ (that is not a typo) with Helioplex,. This is an advanced sunscreen that states it shields skin 6 layers deep from UVA rays, which age the skin. It also fights free radicals that can speed up the signs of aging and is oil-free and non greasy.
Also available is Neutrogena’s Ultimate Sport—SPF 55 Sunblock, also with Helioplex. This one is ultra-sweat proof and water proof and is available as a lotion or convenient spray.
And, made for kids, but anyone can use it—Waterguard, an SPF 70+ spray that is waterproof, rub-proof and yet is oil-free. Spray sunscreen is a fast way to protect your skin from the welcome and warm, yet damaging, rays of the sun.

Make-up, made-up
What exactly is the deal with those Minerals (or is it Mineral?) make-up powders? The first ones were advertised on cable and offered exclusively--you had to sign up for a regular supply. And seeing how those products were applied--"no liquid foundation!" the host exclaimed, while she slathered on the special "concealer". It looked to me as if the "special concealer" was acting like a foundation with the minerals powder dusted over that. Of course the result was a flawless complexion.
Now we have many lines to choose from-- at CVS, Drugstore.com, Target, and assorted department stores. How do we put this stuff on our faces so we look like we didn't try too hard to look perfect-- we want to look great naturally.
It can be done, but you do need to apply a concealer--it doesn't have t be the one in the line---you can buy Neutrogena Minerals make-up powder and Maybelline concealer. The effect is the same. Use a light hand, though, or, like any powder--light or not-- the minerals powder will make its way onto every crease, line and crevice in your face. But used sparingly, these powders offer a nice, light alternative for a finished face.
